2. What information is involved
Information you choose to send
The contact form on this site collects your name, mobile number, city, the plan or topic you are interested in, and any message you write. This information is not transmitted to this website or stored on it. Pressing the button builds a message and hands it to WhatsApp or to your email application, where you decide whether to send it.
Once you do send it, or if you call, I hold that information so I can answer you and, if you take a policy, service it.
Information collected automatically
The web server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs, which typically include your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. These are used to keep the site running and secure.
Information stored in your own browser
The site saves one item to your browser's local storage: insurelic-lang, which remembers whether you chose English or Tamil. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to any server, and clearing your browser data removes it.
3. Cookies
No advertising, tracking or analytics cookies are set by this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the change goes live.
The blog at /blog runs on WordPress. If you leave a comment there, WordPress may set cookies to remember your name and email for your next comment.
4. Third parties
Using this site involves a small number of outside services:
- Google Fonts (Google LLC) serves the typefaces used on these pages. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address.
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) receives your message if you use any WhatsApp button or the WhatsApp option on the contact form. Their own privacy policy applies to that conversation.
- Your email provider handles the message if you choose the email option.
- Market data. The index level shown in the ticker is fetched in advance from a third-party financial data source and served as a plain file from this site. No information about you is sent to that source when you visit.
- Life Insurance Corporation of India. If you decide to take a policy, the details on your proposal form go to LIC, and LIC's own privacy practices govern them from that point.
5. Why I hold your information, and for how long
I use what you send only to respond to your enquiry, to advise you on suitable plans, and to service any policy you take out. I do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling, and I do not sell it or share it with anyone for marketing.
Enquiry details from people who do not become clients are kept only as long as the conversation is live. Records connected to a policy are kept for as long as the policy is in force and afterwards for as long as insurance and tax rules require.
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask me to:
- tell you what information about you I hold and how it has been used;
- correct anything that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
- erase information I no longer need to keep;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated;
- raise a grievance about how your information has been handled.

7. Security
Because this site holds no database, there is no store of visitor data here to breach. Information you send me directly is kept on my own devices and accounts, protected by reasonable measures. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children. Policies covering a minor are proposed by a parent or guardian, whose information is collected rather than the child's.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date.
